The International Recruitment team is committed to promoting NAIT’s programs and creating a welcoming, informative experience for prospective international students. The team is often the first point of contact for students exploring their journey to NAIT, helping them understand NAIT’s program options, the admissions process and the campus community. As part of our efforts, we manage a peer recruitment platform that connects prospective students with NAIT current international students.
Reporting to the International Market Liaison, the Peer Recruitment Assistant (Student Ambassador) will support prospective students by engaging with them through our online platform, as well as at both virtual and in-person recruitment events. This role involves answering questions, sharing personal experiences, and providing insights into what it’s like to study at NAIT and live in Edmonton.
Key****Responsibilities:

Represent NAIT by replying to online messages, and or live chat with prospective students through a virtual peer recruitment platform.

Create photo and video content to be shared through the peer recruitment platform, social media and marketing channels.
-
Answer and build frequently asked questions and responses to support prospective students in applying to NAIT.
-
Share personal experiences at NAIT with prospective international students.
-
Assist at both virtual and in-person events, such as campus tours, webinars, Open House, and Program Discovery.

Contribute to creating a welcoming environment for future students, helping them make informed decisions about studying at NAIT.
Skills & Abilities:
-
Ability to clearly communicate their academic and student life experiences at NAIT to a variety of prospective students.
-
Basic knowledge of the NAIT campus, student services, and opportunities to participate in the campus community.
-
Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing and adapt communication for various audiences.
-
Strong interest in developing photo, video and written content for the peer recruitment platform and social media.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-
Demonstrated student leadership, organizational, and strong interpersonal skills.
-
Willingness to develop public speaking skills.
-
Demonstrated intercultural understanding and awareness.
Qualifications:
-
Enrolled at NAIT as a student from Fall Term 2025 to Winter Term 2026 and in good academic standing.
-
Successful completion of at least one semester of course load at NAIT.

Some related experience.
-
Equivalencies may be considered.
This is a casual position with a maximum of 15 hours per week. Working hours may vary based upon need and availability and may include evenings and weekends.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services or the International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS).
Remuneration: $19.02 - $24.74 per hour, plus 12% in lieu of statutory holidays and vacation accrual. (Classification – Administrative Support II).
This casual opportunity is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
