Position and Responsibilities
As a member of the Technical Services Team, you will be working in collaboration with Production, Quality, and other technical groups to analyze automated equipment problems and to provide timely resolutions. You are organized, self-motivated and have a demonstrated ability to plan, co-ordinate, implement and document projects to improve the reliability of manufacturing processes. You will take ownership for the work and develop the necessary skills to function independently within the work area. General direction is provided on priorities to ensure work completed meets standards. Provides technical support or oversight to a group of professionals to ensure continuity of operations on small scale projects (equipment, processes, administrative services, etc.). This position requires shift work supporting 3-shift operations as well as weekends as needed.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- Electromechanical Technologist / Technician (or equivalent) or millwright/electrician ticket with automation experience
- 2-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with automation equipment
- Hands on mechanical aptitude
- Experience with machine control systems and robotics – AB Logix and Fanuc experience preferred
- Understands due diligence and participates in job hazard analysis
- Applies project management techniques to manage small scale process improvement projects
- Familiar with machine vision applications and related hardware
- Availability for shift work and weekend work as required
Assets:

OACETT Certified Engineering Technologist designation

Experience in Lean / Six Sigma methodologies and application of SPC

Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis Tools
