Job Title Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Plant Accountant to join our finance team in Canada. This role plays a key part in managing plant-level financial activities, ensuring accurate accounting, and supporting operational decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within a manufacturing environment and a working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. GAAP.
Education:
- Post-Secondary degree or diploma in Accounting
- Currently working towards CPA accounting designation
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a cost accounting or plant accounting role
- Proficient in various accounting functions: cash management, inventory control, intercompany reconciliations, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR)
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (preference for Macola and/or Visual Manufacturing)
- Solid understanding of Canadian GAAP; exposure to U.S. GAAP is an asset
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
Position Specific Title and Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cash reconciliations and reporting
- Prepare weekly cash forecasts
- Process daily customer invoicing and credit notes
- Apply customer payments and manage AR collections
- Calculate bad debt provisions and generate customer statements
- Analyze plant costs and revenues to support financial decision-making
- Execute AP cheque runs and process online bill payments
- Manage intercompany payments and account reconciliations
- Prepare required regulatory and financial reports
Position Specific Physical Requirements:
- Hybrid work environment
Target Hiring Range Annual Salary: CAD 61,000.00 - CAD 85,000.00
