What you will do:
CGL and Affiliates
- General legal matters:
- Owned and leased Property,
- Regulatory and legislated matters and compliance
- Trademarks
- Licensing process and compliance
- Contract negotiation, review and ongoing compliance
- Etc.
- Corporate Policies
- Work with HR on policies procedures, Health and safety and employee relations issues
- Deployment of new regulatory and legislative matters
- Best practice on Data security, including SOC II and Privacy, and adherence to changing legal requirements
- Etc.
- Risk Management
- Business Continuity Management
- Privacy Officer
- Compliance Officer
- Management of the Whistle blower Channel
- Annual Business Risk Assessment Process and ongoing reporting
- Maintaining and Managing the Group P&C Insurance Coverage matters
- Policy Renewal
- Claims
- E & O Reporting and oversight
- Due diligence and M&A activities as required
What you will bring:
- You’re a certified professional. The successful candidate must have been called to the Bar in Ontario.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal work experience (law firm or in-house)
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with experience simplifying and resolving complex problems
- Highly focused with attention to detail and ability to collaborate well with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a practical solution-oriented approach
- Demonstrated superior skill in legal drafting, including agreements and contracts.
- Superior organizational and time management skills with experience handling multiple priorities and requests.
