The Opportunity

The Key Account Manager plays a mission-critical role in leading our partnership with one of Canada’s most influential national retailers. In this position, you will own the full commercial relationship—responsible for driving profitable growth, maximizing shelf presence, and executing category strategies across our bulk and packaged food portfolio, including the Planters® brand and Johnvince Foods’ owned brands.

A Day in the Life

  • Serve as the primary business lead for the major retail account, managing all aspects of the commercial relationship
  • Develop and execute joint business plans aligned with customer priorities and Johnvince Foods’ growth strategy
  • Build and present persuasive category reviews, promotional calendars, and innovation pipelines
  • Lead pricing strategy, trade spend management, and financial forecasting at the account level
  • Analyze performance using POS and syndicated data, delivering actionable insights that drive conversion and category growth
  • Partner with Marketing and Trade Marketing to activate in-store and digital campaigns
  • Monitor on-shelf availability, execution standards, and service levels; collaborate with Supply Chain to resolve operational issues
  • Identify new growth opportunities, including white space listings, seasonal programming, and assortment expansion
  • Contribute to internal planning, budget development, and performance tracking with clear accountability
  • Build strong working relationships with retail merchandising, planning, and replenishment teams
  • Communicate customer needs and opportunities internally to drive proactive, customer-focused solutions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, customer standards, and regulatory requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • 5–7 years of progressive sales or key account management experience in the consumer-packaged goods (CPG) industry
  • Proven success managing major national retail accounts in Canada
  • Strong understanding of mass retail operations, systems, and strategy
  • Financial acumen including experience with pricing architecture, promotional planning, and P&L management
  • Advanced presentation, analytics, and account planning skills
  • High initiative, strong ownership, and a collaborative mindset
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage complex priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); experience with retail systems and syndicated data (e.g., Nielsen) is a strong asset
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline
