The City of Port Coquitlam is currently seeking a positive, energetic and customer focused, individual to work in the Purchasing Division of the City’s Finance Department as a part time Purchasing Clerk. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the incumbent will perform a variety of customer service tasks to variety of customers. This part time position is a temporary and anticipated to continue for a period of approximately twelve months.
Some of the key responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Maintains effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts and provides information, assistance, and direction to same
- Performs duties related to the collection and processing of data
- Prepares, processes and maintains a variety of files, records, reports, documents and related material
- Responsible for purchasing related tasks including but not limited to the day to day administration and monthly review of various programs and some contracts, and the processing of purchase orders
The successful candidate for this position will have:
- Considerable knowledge of purchasing rules, regulations and policies governing the work
- Courses related to procurement, supply chain or risk management
- Three years’ experience
- Driver’s license for the Province of British Columbia – Class 5
