About the role

Canadian Tire View Royal (Location: 1519 Admirals Road) is currently hiring for part time and full time Cashier/Customer Service team members. This position requires delivering friendly and courteous service while processing customer purchases efficiently and correctly. This role involves the operation of a computerized cash register. The availability to work evenings and weekends is required. Please indicate any scheduling restrictions on your resume.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Operates cash register and point of sales functions

· Processes customer purchases in an efficient and friendly manner

· Maintains merchandise around the cash area

· Deals with challenging situations and conflict resolution in a professional manner

Position Requirements:

· Basic math and typing skills.

· Ability to work efficiently with computerized and cash register systems.

· Organizational ability and attention to detail.

· Ability to work under minimum supervision.

· Experience in a customer service role and/or with a Canadian Tire store is considered an asset.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Standing/walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Lifting and/or carrying of merchandise items, as required, on a regular, frequent and unassisted basis. Merchandise item may vary in weight from “light” to “heavy”.
  • Lifting and turning repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Lifting above the shoulder, from floor to shoulder and floor to waist.
  • Walking and carrying things at the same time and pushing/pulling, as required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
