Position Summary:
The Afterschool Playground Monitor plays a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during afterschool hours. This individual supervises students on the playground, promotes positive behavior, engages with students and families, and ensures a smooth and safe dismissal process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and monitor student behavior on the playground during afterschool hours.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students.
• Actively engage with students in a positive and supportive manner.
• Communicate courteously and effectively with parents and guardians.
• Escort students to their cars or designated pick-up areas upon parent arrival.
• Monitor the flow of traffic and student movement during dismissal to ensure safety.
• Report any behavioral or safety concerns to the appropriate staff or supervisor.
• Follow school policies and procedures related to student supervision and dismissal.
• Ensure playground is clean before leaving for the day.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain alert, proactive, and calm in a busy outdoor environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must pass background check requirements as mandated by the province.

Job Type: Part-time
