About the role

Overview

Our client is seeking a professional, motivated and relationship driven individual to expand our sales department via outreach and customer relationships, especially in the aftermarket and end user arena. This person will be instrumental in growing the region, formulating new connections, as well as strengthening and nourishing existing customer relations.

Job Description

The SALES – AFTERMARKET & END USER specialist will be instrumental on our client's sales team, focusing on end users and technical expertise with a primary responsibility to support our channel partners in the hardware and security wholesale market plus select accounts with our customers servicing the construction industry. Position will include generating leads, determining customer needs, discovering untapped opportunities and evaluating market requirements and strategies. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: Expanding customer base, nurturing new and existing opportunities, maintaining and building existing customers to determine needs and challenges.

Anticipated travel: Metro Calgary (daily); Edmonton & Red Deer (monthly+/-). The individual must be a team player yet work well independently with minimal direction, must have excellent, professional communication skills, and demonstrate solid decision-making

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with customers including visits to their office/teams
  • Conduct business review meetings with our partners and develop mutually beneficial strategies to grow our markets together
  • Manage and expand existing customer relationships
  • Develop, execute and maintain an effective and clear strategic sales plan to increase top line growth with existing and new partner accounts
  • Work closely with Tillicum’s internal Business Development-Integrated Technologies representative, developing and sharing customer strategies in a constructive, collaborative and effective manner
  • Identify new/existing opportunities with strategic accounts and create effective strategies to sell our solutions through channel partners
  • Communicate effectively and directly with end users (ex: education campus and facility maintenance teams)
  • Be responsive and attentive to customer needs and assist in resolution of any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Provide training and sales support to partners and their customers on products and solutions we represent
  • Deliver corporate sales volumes and manage associated costs within territory
  • Collaborate with existing manufacturing sales teams to assist in greater adoption of product brands by accessing new verticals and channels
  • Present marketing activities, new products, and product innovations to actively grow business base
  • Continually refine sales strategy to maximize both sales revenue and profitability
  • Provide accurate, timely activity reporting utilizing available corporate reporting tools
  • Collaborate with existing Tillicum team members to present a unified professional sales experience for our manufacturing partners, dealers, distributors and end-users
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification Requirements

  • Exposure to industrial or construction supplies sales
  • Ability to travel across province, while maintaining valid and clean driver’s license
  • Clear, professional, engaging communication skills
  • Provide and coordinate knowledgeable one-on-one or group product training to clients and customers as required
  • Maintain records, and effectively use the company’s CRM system (SalesForce)
  • Manage sales expenses and budgets responsibly
  • Effective interaction plus strong attention to customer base
  • Learn company's product line and components plus maintain proactive ongoing self-educational opportunities

Assets

  • Strong awareness of construction markets including commercial, healthcare, education, industrial and multifamily
  • Aptitude for electronics, mechanics, gadgets, computer/IT
  • Experience selling opening solutions as a consultant using effective communication approach with a diverse audience
  • Strong time management skills
  • Ability to analyze and identify sales opportunities, plus troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
  • Listening skills: ability to listen to and understand a customer’s issues and needs, then translate into action plan
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Ability to travel freely to U.S.A. for future corporate events or training
  • AHC (Architectural Hardware Consultant) or EHC certification

Compensation

  • $80k-90k yearly salary, dependent on experience.
  • Must successfully pass DHI courses COR101 + COR102 and approved completion of 3mos probation period.
  • Annual bonus program: Up to 15% salary, based on 10% growth of local region + 5% company overall corporate performance
  • Car allowance ($600/mo) + $.25/km for corporate travel, company cell phone, laptop and employee benefits
  • Vacation: 2 weeks (10 working days) per calendar year
