Position Title: Casual Physiotherapist (PT)
Location: Greater Toronto Area (GTA) | Home-based with flexibility for in-office education or mentorship sessions
About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and client-centered Physiotherapist to join our growing home care team on a casual basis. This unique role blends hands-on client care with opportunities to lead front-line training sessions that directly support safe mobility and rehabilitation in the home setting.
As a Physiotherapist, you’ll provide in-home assessments and treatments to older adults, develop personalized care plans, and collaborate with care providers such as PSWs and PTAs. You will also support education by mentoring front-line staff through mobility techniques, equipment use, and fall prevention strategies.
This is a great fit for a PT who values autonomy, mentorship, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of both clients and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete in-home physiotherapy assessments across the GTA
- Develop and implement goal-oriented treatment plans
- Support mobility, function, strength, and fall prevention through evidence-based interventions
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members for holistic care
- Delegate to and supervise PTAs and unregulated care providers according to College of Physiotherapists of Ontario standards
- Design and/or deliver in-services and coaching for PSWs/PTAs on:
- Safe mobility, transfers, and client handling
- Assistive devices and exercise programs
- Fall prevention and recovery strategies
- Document all visits, care plans, and communications using our digital EHR platform
- Stay current on best practices in community physiotherapy and aging in place
Qualifications:
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
- Minimum 3–5 years of physiotherapy experience in home/community care
- Strong communication, time management, and independent decision-making skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle
- Comfortable using digital tools and electronic health records
- Available for flexible scheduling and weekend assignments
Preferred Assets:
- ADP Authorizer status or willing to obtain
- Experience with:
- Falls prevention and safe mobility techniques
- Working with older adults or in geriatric rehab
- Responsive behaviours and dementia care
Work Environment:
This is a home-based position with occasional in-person attendance for staff training, in-services, or meetings.
