Range of Pay: Group 12 - $34.10 to $43.02 per hour (Subject to Review)

This position is eligible to work remotely on a full-time basis. (Note: Must have the ability to be able to report to a City of Greater Sudbury work location on short notice).

Characteristic Duties: Under the general supervision of the ERP Co-ordinator.

  1. Collaborate with internal users to define user requirements, assess available PeopleSoft functionality and develop solution options.
  2. Analyse user requirements, develop alternative solutions for data input and retrieval, design and create financial information management reports, and develop complex queries.
  3. Co-ordinate development efforts with project managers and technical leads as necessary; migrate completed development through testing and production environments.
  4. Provide user support and maintain systems to ensure daily operational needs are met in a timely fashion, liaising with Information Technology and/or PeopleSoft Global support to solve or report system issues.
  5. Respond to inquiries related to financial applications, resolve problems and provide assistance on core business processes.
  6. Research and test functionality of financial management modules, and recommend revisions and enhancements based on test results.
  7. Test and document enhancements, configuration changes, maintenance packs and system upgrades for the PeopleSoft Financials.
  8. Develop testing materials and training materials as needed.
  9. Maintain Financial Information System issues database (i.e. documented issues and solutions).
  10. Liaise with the Information Technology Section with respect to the ongoing maintenance of the computerized accounting and financial reporting systems and oversee the testing of all applications of new functionality, patches, fixes and service packs as required.
  11. Maintain and document Roles and Permissions for security access to the PeopleSoft Financial applications.
  12. Maintain configuration roadmaps for financial modules making changes as required and ensure the financial modules are configured to meet business needs and support operational process requirements for new and existing PeopleSoft implementations.
  13. Regularly review literature regarding PeopleSoft functionality through collaboration with PeopleSoft Global Support personnel, and other users or user groups. Attend training, seminars and conferences as required.
  14. Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS’s Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
  15. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a Community College diploma in Business, Accounting, Information Technology or related discipline.
  • Completion of PeopleSoft courses for financial modules required in one or more of the following modules: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and/or Inventory.
  • Two and one-half (2½) years up to and including five (5) years of related experience, in the development and support of users in an ERP system environment with a large, diversified public sector organization.
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong functional knowledge of integrated PeopleSoft modules.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical requirements.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform analyses such as FIT/GAP analysis, process mapping and business user requirement gathering.
  • Knowledge of user acceptance testing.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills, including system, process and business analysis.
  • Must be detail oriented, have a methodical approach and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and be able to effectively prioritize work demands, multi-task, and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines as required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and be able to clearly and concisely write financial reports, business correspondence, and user documentation and procedures.
  • Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
  • Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver’s licence, have an acceptable driving record, and personal insurance coverage.

Development opportunity range of pay: $31.79 to $39.50 per hour (Subject to Review). The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced range until the minimum qualifications have been met.
