Position Overview

Are you passionate about supporting families and shaping the future of early childhood care in BC? We’re looking for a dedicated Child Care Consultant to join our CCRR team! In this impactful role, you’ll help families access the BC Affordable Child Care Benefit, provide expert guidance to parents and caregivers, and support the broader child care community with vital resources and referrals. Join us in making quality child care more accessible for everyone.

Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will promote the Child Care Options Resource and Referral program, the BC Affordable Child Care Benefit, and related services within the community. They support families in finding child care by maintaining current referral lists, assisting with benefit applications, and providing guidance on selecting quality care. The also involves delivering information sessions, connecting families to community resources, and responding to a wide range of inquiries related to child care and family support. The Consultant stays informed on child care issues and maintains strong communication with internal teams and external agencies.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have a background in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with at least three years of experience working with young children and families. A current Level I First Aid certificate, a valid Class 5 BC driver’s license, and access to a reliable vehicle are required.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, adaptable, and able to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment. They must demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. A solid understanding of current child care practices, community resources, and the diverse needs of families is essential. This role requires a non-judgmental and supportive approach, a high level of confidentiality, and the ability to provide objective consultation. Proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
