About this role:

As an Aftercare Coordinator at Adams Funeral Home located in Barrie, Ontario, you will play a vital role in providing support to families following the loss of a loved one. You’ll assist with the cancellation of government entitlements, help with estate-related notifications, and offer additional services such as informing pension, insurance, or WSIB providers (if qualified). Your work will help ease the burden during a difficult time while also supporting the funeral home's ongoing connection with the community.

Job Type: Part Time, Permanent

Key Qualifications and Demonstrated Abilities:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of funeral home procedures and industry best practices.
  • A visible and positive presence in the community with a passion for service.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service excellence and professionalism.
  • Alignment with Arbor’s core values: Integrity, Trust, Teamwork, and Excellence.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract is a mandatory requirement for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Notify and cancel relevant government services on behalf of the deceased.
  • Complete and file all required paperwork efficiently.
  • Track follow-ups and maintain detailed records of family contact.
  • Distribute and manage aftercare documentation.
  • Promote Aftercare and Lifestyle programs.
  • Participate in funeral home and community events as needed.
  • Identify and share leads with the prearrangement team.
  • Assist with final payments and outstanding account collections.
  • Support customer satisfaction initiatives (e.g., surveys, reviews).
  • Share information about ArborCare and bereavement resources.
  • Support grief support and community outreach initiatives (where applicable).
