Summary of responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Substance Use Health, Adult Mental Health and Youth Hub Programs, the Project Specialist – Eastern Champlain Youth Wellness Hub (Project Specialist) supports the implementation and advancement of the Enhancing Health Equity in Integrated Youth Services (EHE-IYS) initiative at the local and rural level within the Youth Wellness Hub. The Project Specialist works in collaboration with a broad and diverse group of community partners, the Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario (YWHO) and the Network Partner.
The Project Specialist coordinates and supports a diverse set of projects and acts as a liaison between the local and rural Hub sites, regional community partners and YWHO, ensuring effective coordination of implementation activities, partnership engagements, and continuous improvement. This role emphasizes data collection, communication, culturally competent care delivery, and the development of localized and rural service pathways.
The Project Specialist supports satellite and virtual service planning, outreach and engagement strategies, and provides leadership to ensure alignment with YWHO’s Learning Health System (LHS) approach. The incumbent helps foster inclusive, youth-centered partnerships, tracks project milestones, and assists in financial review. They support and engage the Youth Wellness Team (YWT) in capacity building and equity-focused practices.
Requirements of the job

Sound project management skills with an understanding of methodology and philosophies.

Strong understanding of youth mental health and substance use health systems.

Demonstrated experience in using project management tools such as a project charter, project schedules, status reports, change requests, risk management and budget management.

Demonstrate knowledge of culturally competent care and anti-oppressive practices.
-
Project coordination skills, including tracking deliverables and milestones.
-
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and facilitation skills.
-
Data collection and reporting; experience with performance measurement tools.
-
Excellent critical thinking skills with a strong attention to detail.
-
Solid communication skills in (written and oral).
-
Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple initiatives, and respond to dynamic needs.

Excellent partner and interest holder management skills, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to be consultative.

Team-orientated.

Exceptional organization & time management skills.

Strategic view and ability to interrelate projects and initiatives to align with strategic goals.

Computer skills with hands-on capabilities in Microsoft: including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Functional proficiency in English (oral comprehension, expression, reading, and writing).

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable means of transportation on a regular basis
Assets: • Functional proficiency in French (oral) is an asset.
