Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be part of the Geotechnical team for Western Canada, based in the Burnaby office. Reporting to the Geotechnical Discipline Manager, the successful candidate will be joining a well-established and diverse engineering group in Western Canada poised for growth and challenging project opportunities well into the future.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Working closely with Project Engineers/Managers, design support staff, field technical staff, materials testing staff, and the Discipline Manager on projects mainly in and around, but not limited to the Greater Vancouver area and Fraser Valley. For each project, the successful candidate could be involved in:

  • Project design phase deliverables such as;
  • Assisting in coordinating and conducting geotechnical site investigations
  • Conduct geotechnical analysis under P.Eng. supervision
  • Assisting in preparing initial drafts of geotechnical reports
  • Project construction phase deliverables such as:
  • Coordinate EXP technical and field support staff
  • Support project construction meetings
  • Support technical inquiries during construction work
  • Conduct field reviews to support EoR quality assurance work
  • Prepare design memos/letters and or prepare/review Field Review Reports during construction
  • Project close out phase deliverables such as; Prepare/support close out documents, as required

What your experience looks like

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or geological/geotechnical engineering
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong technical skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team player with proven ability to work independently or as a member of project teams
  • Excellent organizing, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills using word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications such as MS Word, Excel and AutoCAD
  • Experience in engineering programs (gINT, SlopeW, MSEW are assets) Must possess valid driver’s license to travel to and from client office and project construction sites

The salary range for this role is between $70,000-$90,000. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
