About the role

Our Bottle/material sorter will be working in a public setting with customer interactions ongoing throughout the shift; excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.

This is currently a temporary role to cover a medical leave.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 7 am-5 pm; Saturdays, 7 am-12 pm

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accurately count refundables brought in by customers (bottles, cans, etc.) and record them on counting slips.
  • Calculate and pay customers refundable’s based on counting slip totals.
  • Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic handling equipment.
  • Pack, unpack, sort, crate, stock goods and materials and maintain organized inventory.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
  • Sundry duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • The ability to maintain and organize inventory is a priority.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • CSA-certified steel-toed footwear.
  • Ability to carry and lift up to 50lbs repetitively.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions (including extreme cold, heat, and inclimate weather.)
  • PPE equipment will be provided.

Physical Requirements/Working conditions:

  • Must be able to do the following movements during extended periods of time: Lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, sitting, lying down, squatting and kneeling.
  • Must be able to work both inside the warehouse and outside in all weather conditions (including extreme cold, heat, and inclimate weather)
