About the role
Who We Are
ROHL Global Networks Inc. is a leading provider of telecommunications and utility construction across Western Canada, with expanding operations in renewable energy throughout the U.S. We specialize in complex fiber optic and high-voltage infrastructure projects supporting solar farms, data centers, and other critical systems.
As we continue to grow, we are launching a bold new division focused on the design, permitting, construction, and operation of Solar Farms and Distributed Power Systems across Western Canada. Our mission is to enable the energy transition while supporting the power needs of emerging sectors like AI data centers and EV charging infrastructure.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Director, Power & Solar Systems to lead this new division. This is a rare ground-floor leadership opportunity to shape a high-growth vertical expected to become ROHL’s largest business unit within the next five years.

- Build and manage a high-performing cross-functional team, including project managers, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Engage directly with AESO and local utility providers (e.g., Fortis, EPCOR, ATCO) to streamline permitting and grid connection.
- Drive deployment of solar PV, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), and hybrid power systems.
- Champion partnerships with private developers, energy clients, and municipalities.
- Manage budgets, timelines, risk, and stakeholder expectations to deliver profitable and scalable projects.
- Help define the technological roadmap for supporting AI, EV, and other emerging energy-intensive infrastructure.
- Position ROHL as a leader in Western Canada’s evolving power landscape.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related technical discipline.
- Additional credentials in Project Management, Energy Systems, or Business Administration are an asset.
- 8–12+ years’ experience in energy infrastructure, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or project delivery role.
- Proven experience with permitting and regulatory navigation through AESO and Alberta utility companies.
- Demonstrated success delivering commercial, industrial, or utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.
- Strong knowledge of power systems, interconnection processes, and evolving technologies (DER, microgrids, BESS).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills to inspire teams and influence stakeholders.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
