WHAT YOU WILL DO
Under the supervision of the General Manager, Mechanical Facilities, you will support mechanical projects, facilities operations and planning. In this role, you would gain extensive knowledge of project delivery process using recognized project delivery approaches and a detailed understanding of mechanical systems for heating, ventilation and cooling, as well as application of heat transfer concepts, geothermal energy etc.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Support mechanical facilities operations and planning in the following areas;
- Asset verification, tagging and set up in CMMS
- Utility consumption variance monitoring
- Mechanical system PM performance monitoring
- Support mechanical projects such as:
- Mechanical heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning performance studies
- HVAC load transfer re-design study
- BMS -AI energy management proof of concept
- All other mechanical projects including but not limited to restoration and recertification of our escalators and elevator systems, heating redesign etc.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- Preference will be given to students in their third year of study
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication with great attention to detail
- Results oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast paced and rapidly evolving environment
- Computer savvy
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders in the airport community
WHAT ELSE?
- To qualify as a co-op student, you must be enrolled in and returning to a post-secondary institution following your work term.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a restricted area identification card (RAIC).
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work model with a combination of onsite and remote work.
