Position Overview:

The Senior Portfolio Operations Administrator, Pricing is an experienced senior operations specialist and administrative role that executes critical daily pricing processes that support the valuation of mutual funds and investment accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • A pricing specialist that supports the pricing operations and pricing reporting functions of a key strategic client

  • Supports the Manager Pricing and is the first point of escalation for any issues or problems that arise during daily operations

  • Perform second level reviews

  • Execute critical daily pricing processes, such as data extraction, data scrubbing, data formatting, report preparation and delivery are followed

  • Ensure correct and timely reporting of prices

  • Receive pricing from approved pricing sources, ensuring all pricing data are accurately and promptly entered into the accounting records

  • Work with Investment Managers and other critical stakeholders to support pricing and valuation reporting

  • Participate in departmental initiatives and projects

  • Providing training, guidance, and assistance to team members with daily activities as needed; Provide mentorship to team members

Client Servicing

  • Respond to client inquiries, resolve problems, manage administrative/ operational issues to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to service level standards

Audit Standards & Risk Control

  • Maintains understanding of services as it relates to the team’s accountabilities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Minimizes risk and operational losses by adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Provide training, mentorship and leadership in preparation of audit materials, departmental policies and procedures, risk and compliance presentations.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

  • Four years of experience in an accounting/operations related position (experience with mutual funds, securities/investments, foreign currency translation and derivatives preferred)

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma specializing in Accounting/Finance/Commerce/Business

  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course is preferred; enrollment in the CFA program would be an asset

Specific Knowledge & Skills

  • Familiarity with professional information systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office such as MS Excel and Word; Access would be an asset
  • Programming/development and data management skills an asset
  • Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment and deal with fluctuating work volumes is required
  • A high attention to detail is required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Knowledge of applicable policies and procedures
