Police Support Services is looking for Police Information Liaisons (Front Counter) to work at the RCMP Detachment. The department is currently recruiting for:
- A regular full time position
- A temporary full time position for approximately two years
- Auxiliary positions
In this dynamic role serving the community of North Vancouver and supporting the RCMP, you will be at the heart of our front-line customer service efforts. You will create police files, process various clerical assignments and found property, take non-criminal fingerprints, operate various RCMP computer applications, and handle cash. You will provide information and assist the public, both in person at the Front Counter and on the phone, including providing guidance to the community by explaining rules, regulations and procedures. You will also be a crucial part of our communication hub, answering and directing calls for the Detachment’s main phone line while providing essential clerical support to several operational areas at the Detachment.
As an ideal candidate, you bring several years of customer service and clerical experience. You have a keen eye for detail and the ability to complete assignments with speed and accuracy. Your style is courteous, firm and tactful when dealing with the public. While related experience, especially in a law enforcement environment, is an asset, your passion and commitment to community service will be a significant advantage. Computer skills along with the ability to keyboard at a net speed of 40 words per minute may be tests required to complete to demonstrate the applicable skills and knowledge.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance as a condition of ongoing employment.
For temporary full-time positions of eight (8) months or longer, a City employee who is successful on the posting will have the right to revert to their former position .
Salary:
$30.70 to $36.08 per hour
(Pay Grade 16 – January 2024 rates)
Hours of Work:
Regular full time and temporary full time: Any 7 consecutive hours between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., exclusive of an unpaid one hour meal break, any five (5) consecutive days of seven OR any 10 consecutive hours between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., exclusive of an unpaid one hour meal break following a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation.
Auxiliary: Hours will vary dependent on operational need
