Our Credit Manager plays a pivotal role in aligning strategic credit decisions with our sales team and broader financial goals. We’re looking for a Credit Manager to join our head office located in Vernon, British Columbia. Our head office houses our corporate services groups including Sales, Marketing & Logistics, Finance, Accounting & Credit, IT, Procurement, and Human Resources.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a senior credit role and/or management position.

  • Professional Certification in Credit Management or Professional Designation preferred with a mix of relevant experience.

  • A self-starter with a strategic approach to credit management, who drives change and innovation by working collaboratively and creatively with others across the company.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and apply good business acumen to make decisions and provide advice.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and executive leaders.

  • Strong legal, financial and analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and concise manner.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing demands.

  • Capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity and discretion.

  • Due to the nature of the role, a criminal record check will be required as part of the recruitment process.

In this role, you will:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements and terms for the company, its operating business units, and capital projects to encourage growth and manage risk.

  • Provide advice to the finance and capital teams across the company on credit transactions.

  • Provide guidance and expertise as part of competitive bid and credit processes for capital projects, as well as credit negotiations, analysis, and onboarding processes.

  • Oversee the Export Documentation team’s international credit transactions, both processing and collections.

  • Assist the finance department in managing credit agreements to ensure the company is abiding by agreements, preventing maverick spend, and leveraging maximum benefits from the negotiated agreements.

  • Manage the dispute resolution, collections and claims process with creditors. Assist with the litigation process to reduce reliance on external legal providers and provide recommendations to mitigate future risks of litigation.

  • Advise on and assist in developing, implementing, and updating the Company’s Credit Policy and Procedures and Credit Contracts Standards.

  • Bring your ideas, changes, and improvements to the Credit department in order to keep us best in class.
