About the role

Position Overview

Calian is seeking an Intermediate Project Leader to assist our client with the facilitation of their projects. This role involves managing and coordinating various aspects of Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) defence projects, ensuring compliance with defence policies and procedures, and utilizing risk management principles within the Government of Canada and international defence environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage CBRN defence projects.
  • Interpret, review, utilize, and follow defence policies and procedures related to project management for capital acquisition projects.
  • Prepare and staff various defence management system documents.
  • Apply risk management principles and procedures to project execution.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders from Government of Canada, government military organizations, NATO countries, and defence industry organizations.

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 12 months of demonstrated experience, within the last 60 months, in Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) defence doctrine and its enabling components* from either: Government of Canada, Government military organization, NATO country, Defence industry organization
  • Must have a minimum of 24 months of demonstrated experience, within the last 60 months, in interpreting, reviewing, utilizing, and/or following defence policies and procedures related to project management for capital acquisition projects for either: Government of Canada, Government military organization, NATO country, Defence industry organization
  • Must have a detailed working knowledge of a Defence Management System (DMS) or equivalent management system, and associated publications and directives. This must be demonstrated by the preparation and staffing of at least five (5) of the following documents, within the last 60 months, within either: Government of Canada, Government military organization, NATO country, Defence industry organization; working on the following documents:
  • Preliminary Statement of Requirement (SOR (P)) and SOR
  • Strategic Context Document (SCD)
  • Business Case Analysis (BCA)
  • Approval of Minor Capital projects
  • Approval of project Identification phase
  • Approval of project Definition phase
  • Approval of project Implementation phase
  • Project Charter (PC)
  • Project Complexity and Risk Assessment (PCRA)
  • Ministerial (Min)/Treasury Board (TB) Approval Docket
  • Must have a minimum of 24 months of demonstrated experience, within the last 60 months, using risk management principles and procedures within either: Government of Canada, Government military organization, NATO country, Defence industry organization

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret Level – II
