Department: Center for Mental Health Program

Reports to: Clinical Director, Acute Care Mental Health and Allied Health

Hours: 37.5 hours

Shifts: 5 days per week

Status: Permanent Full-Time

Closing Date: July 24, 2025

As Manager of Outpatient Mental Health Services, you will lead multidisciplinary teams across a variety of specialized clinics including the Outpatient Eating Disorders Clinic, Depression Centre, IMPACT program, Urgent Care Clinic, and the Mental Health in Medicine Clinic. You will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while managing fiscally responsible budgets and participating in strategic planning. Your role will involve overseeing the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of departmental activities, facilitating professional and educational development for staff, patients, and families, and maintaining strong communication with patients, family members, and community partners. You will also lead change management initiatives across these outpatient services, coordinate administrative functions including departmental meetings, and foster a safe and supportive environment for both patients and staff. Your sound judgment, strong leadership skills, and experience in managing complex outpatient mental health programs will be essential to your success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Master's degree program, in one of the Health or Social sciences or equivalent
  • A recognized equivalent in Health or Public Administration is an asset
  • Specialty certification as applicable, i.e. Mental Health or similar is an asset
  • Up to six (6) years of relevant experience in mental health, clinical and/or specialty field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory or management experience
  • Eligibility or membership in relevant professional association/organization/college
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Is client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciates that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand.
  • Excellent skills in recognizing, analyzing and resolving problems.
  • Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Excellent decision making skills with the ability to form/defend independent judgements and to use good judgement in assessing difficult situations.
  • Ability to work effectively and demonstrates composure under pressure/stressful conditions and to meet multiple and competing deadlines
  • Exercises initiative and good judgement with ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrates ability to work in a team environment and collaborates with others in assisting with the delivery of care to patients.
  • Proven ability to work with mental health and addiction clients, their families and support systems
  • Adapts to and implements change and facilitates its acceptance by others
  • Working knowledge of computer, preferably Microsoft Office and Outlook applications.
  • Maintains and protects patient confidentiality in accordance with UHN Privacy policy requirements
  • Has knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policies, procedures & protocols.
  • Has knowledge of applicable legislation affecting human resources (i.e. Human Rights, Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health & Safety Act, etc.)
  • Has knowledge of collaborative networks, primary care, and integrated health systems
  • Proven knowledge of the Mental Health and Addictions system and relevant legislation, i.e. Mental Health Act
