WHAT YOU WILL DO
Support Hyundai Auto Canada’s (HAC) strategic environmental plans to develop a leadership position, capitalize on the EV-disruption in the Canadian market and ensure environmental compliance:
- Lead the development and deployment of electrification strategies in this critical period of EV transition
- Work with regulatory compliance and product planning teams to develop GHG, CAFE, and ZEV compliant product and sales strategies
- Ensure compliance for all Electric Vehicle and Greenhouse Gas emissions targets/regulations
- Support efforts to grow electric vehicle adoption by improving the customer electrification journey
- Manage ZEV/GHG Credit trades, hydrogen partnerships and battery end-of-life initiatives
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT
- Ensure compliance for all Government Electric Vehicle and Greenhouse Gas emissions targets
- Develop compliance forecasts with scenario planning & optimization functionality, including the ongoing communications to executives
- Monitor, track and report on federal and provincial incentives’ programs and communicate their impact on Hyundai electrified vehicle sales and compliance strategy
- Lead efforts to grow electric vehicle adoption by improving a customers’ electrification journey
- Support Product Planning in the development of long-term model line-up strategies and identify new product and feature opportunities by studying market, consumer, and government trends.
- Oversee deployment of EV strategies that optimize sales and profit
- Manage the sale of any compliance credits (ZEV, GHG, etc.) to other OEM’s
- Represent Hyundai in the Industry Charging Network program (iONNA) and other charging infrastructure plans
- Coordinate voluntary battery recycling efforts on behalf of HAC
- Liaise with GAC as well as HAC Compliance Group, other HACC departments, HMA, HATCI and HMC as required
- Lead any corporate Fuel Cell activities / work with Product Planning to support H2 adoption in Canada
- Track any material regulations and ensure future Hyundai products are aligned with restrictions/ prohibitions
- Support the submission of all Regulatory Reporting requirements (GHG, ZEV, Emissions, Chemicals, etc.)
- Work with GAC Technical and Government Affairs
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or similar) required. P. Eng. is an asset.

Master’s degree a plus
-
5 years of OEM experience (Regulatory/Compliance desired)
-
Experience managing other people/teams desired
-
Technical understanding of vehicles/systems is an asset
-
Excellent organizational skillset
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Excellent presentation skills
-
Good PowerPoint skillset
-
Good skillset to manage outside sources/departments

Automotive Technical background
-
Assertive and professional
-
Good relationship building capability

Knowledge of French an asset
