Summary
We are growing and adding a new position for "Evening Dispatcher" to join our dynamic team at Searcy Trucking. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of pickup, deliveries, and customs clearances during the evening and Saturday.
This role is full-time, Monday-Friday from 4PM-10PM, and Saturdays from 8AM-5PM.
This position is only open to Canadian residents.,
Responsibilities
- Scheduling and Coordination:
- Manage and coordinate the schedules of truck drivers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Plan and adjust routes as needed to optimize efficiency and accommodate any changes.
- Communication:
- Maintain communication with drivers to provide updates and resolve any issues that arise during their routes.
- Communicate with customers regarding freight details, delivery times, and any special handling requests.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and manage dispatch documents, including freight bills, customs documents and invoices.
- Record and maintain logistics data, and generate regular reports on delivery status and driver performance.
- Problem-Solving:
- Address and resolve customer complaints and inquiries.
- Assist drivers with route navigation and manage emergency dispatch situations.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with transport policies and regulations.
- Monitor and manage driver performance and safety, including coordinating after hours emergency vehicle repairs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in dispatching or within the logistics field is required.
- Familiarity with USA and Canadian customs clearances, border procedures and DOT regulations is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work well under pressure, unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using dispatch software and other relevant technology.
- Efficient data entry skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
