About the role

The Opportunity: Regulatory Projects Financial Advisor

Permanent, Full-Time position, based out of Whitehorse, Yukon.

Who we are: Yukon Energy is the primary generator and transmitter of electrical energy in the Yukon territory, operating within the Traditional Territories of Yukon First Nations. What will you do: Reporting to the VP of Planning, Environment, and Health & Safety, you will:

  • Play a key role in bringing critical energy projects to life for Yukon communities by ensuring projects stay on track, on budget, and in compliance with industry standards.
  • Lead the preparation of project documentation, forecasts, and close-out reports that guide decisions all the way to Senior Leadership and the Board.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Finance, and cross-functional teams to provide accurate analysis and practical solutions that drive successful project delivery.
  • Support the transition to a cleaner energy future in the Yukon by ensuring our projects are managed with financial discipline, transparency, and accountability.

What you need to succeed:

  • Must possess a minimum of three years of related experience in a project management environment, including project controls. Relevant project management diploma or accreditation would be an asset.
  • Must possess related project or cost accounting experience and an accounting diploma would be an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in financial planning procedures and can provide sound advice and recommendations regarding the development, implementation and resolution of capital plans.
  • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions and project management software and tools.
  • Experience using and managing SharePoint would be a strong asset.

Compensation: Level 8: $46.83/hr-$55.93/hr PLUS Northern Allowance
