Position: Part Time FASD Keyworker
Location: Cranbrook, BC
Wage: $29.17 /hour; as per the collective agreement
Hours: 28 hours/week
Summary:
Axis Family Resources Ltd. is hiring a Part Time FASD Keyworker in Cranbrook, BC. The purpose of this role is to provide educational, emotional, and practical support to families supporting children or youth with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or similar neurodevelopmental conditions. Building and maintaining healthy relationships with our Persons Served through a trauma-informed practice is the core of our work. You will promote a positive and healthy environment that supports our persons served towards achieving educational, social, and recreational goals while focusing on daily life skills development. Qualifications & Requirements:
- A degree in Health or Human Services, Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or equivalent education and experience in this field is required.
- A solid working knowledge of child development is an asset.
- Related experience in working with vulnerable populations or behavioural challenges will also be considered an asset (please outline type of experience in the ‘message to the employer’ section during the application process).
- Knowledge of and the ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD or other neurobiological conditions is beneficial.
- Reliable transportation and a valid BC driver’s licence.
- Clear Criminal Record Check (agency conducted, expenses covered).
- Effective written and verbal communication.
