This position is responsible to ensure fresh produce and meat entering the perishable distribution centres (PDCs) meet quality and regulatory requirements as well as Walmart Canada’s standards.

Ce que vous ferez...

  1. Accurate and efficient inspection of incoming shipments of produce and meat that arrive at the Walmart PDC to ensure it meets Walmart's and CFIA specifications for quality and labeling.

  2. Conducts routine inspections of staple stock items to review product for quality and conformance standards.

  3. Make decisions to accept or reject product based on inspection results.

  4. Timely reporting and communication of any deficiencies on inbound quality and/or compliance to Walmart PDC cross-functional team members.

  5. Maintain and update produce and meat specs as required.

  6. Inspection of outbound loads to ensure they are built to prevent product damage.

  7. Monitor cold chain (temperature) compliance of inbound and outbound product to ensure compliance.

  8. Participate in special projects and shelf-life studies, as required, as a continuous improvement opportunity.

  9. The applicants must be willing to work night shift and be comfortable in cooler environment.

  10. Analyze data, identify issues, and implement solutions including effective communication collaborating with teams, and reporting issues

  11. Familiarity with testing equipment, quality control procedures, and industry-specific regulations is essential

  12. QC technicians need to be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and maintain accurate records

Qualifications:

  • Minimum education required: High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience.
  • Basic computer skills: e-mail, Excel, Word.
  • Able to follow appropriate company policies, procedures, guidelines, and compliance requirements when inspecting products for quality and damage.
  • Strong judgment, able to leverage policies, procedures and/or guides in order to make effective and informed decisions.
  • Strong customer service focus. Asks questions in order to understand and meet associate and customer needs.
  • Results focused, with a strong attention to detail. Able to multi-task / prioritize work to ensure that key deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Able to adapt quickly to changing work demands and priorities.
