Job Summary
As a member of the Fund Development and Communications team, the Marketing Team Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic marketing initiatives that raise awareness, deepen engagement, and drive action across all CMHA Edmonton programs and campaigns. This hands-on position is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented, and self-driven professional with strong project management skills and a passion for storytelling that inspires change.
Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Marketing Team Lead will manage our web and social platforms, produce compelling digital and print content, support internal communications, and contribute to fundraising and donor engagement efforts. The successful candidate will bring both vision and execution—someone who thrives in a mission-driven environment and can confidently balance creative innovation with technical proficiency.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Digital Marketing & Content Creation

Maintain and update CMHA Edmonton’s WordPress website, ensuring all content is accurate, accessible, and optimized.

Support the Together4CMH.ca website (Squarespace) by collaborating with internal partners to maintain a strong digital presence.

Lead CMHA Edmonton’s social media strategy and content creation across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), TikTok, and YouTube using Hootsuite.

Create, edit, and publish engaging multimedia content, including video, photography, graphics, and animations for digital campaigns and storytelling.

Design and distribute email marketing campaigns, monthly newsletters, fundraising appeals, and event promotions using Blackbaud (or Mailchimp as applicable).
Print & Traditional Marketing

Assist with the layout and distribution of CMHA Edmonton’s Annual Report (digital and print).

In collaboration with program teams, design and produce printed collateral such as brochures, flyers, posters, handouts, and signage.

Ensure consistent application of CMHA Edmonton’s visual identity across all internal and external marketing materials.

Support event marketing through the creation of branded programs, signage, ads, and promotional tools.
Internal Communications

Coordinate content for CMHA Edmonton’s internal communication platform (SharePoint Community Hub), supporting a culture of transparency, connection, and staff recognition.

Partner with the Staff Engagement Committee to develop and distribute messaging that supports organizational alignment and engagement.
Strategy & Analytics

Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications Manager to develop marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance metrics across web, email, and social channels; provide regular reports with insights and recommendations.

Maintain marketing content calendars and campaign planning tools, ensuring strategic alignment with development and program priorities.
Qualifications and Skills
-
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field—or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3+ years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably in a nonprofit, public sector, or social impact environment.

Proficiency in WordPress, Squarespace, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft 365, Hootsuite, and email marketing tools.

Preference will be given to candidates who are also content creators—individuals who regularly produce and share original digital content such as videos, blogs, social media posts, podcasts, or graphics, demonstrating creativity, audience engagement, and a strong personal or professional brand.

Experience with video production, editing, and motion graphics tools is required.

Strong project management and organizational skills; ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional storytelling, writing, and design skills with a collaborative spirit and a deep appreciation for community-based work.

Passion for mental health, inclusion, and the power of communications to make a difference.
Working Conditions

Full-time, in-office with local travel required for event and content capture (video/photo).

Occasional evening or weekend work for major campaigns or events.
