Position Title: COMPACTOR OPERATOR
Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor
Work Schedule: Regular, Full-Time, Days

Job Summary: Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Compactor Operator will ensure facility cleanliness, disposal of cardboard, and other production waste, in compliance with ISO standards.
Job Responsibilities:
The Compactor Operator is responsible for the following:
- Operating a counter-balance to dispose of waste in exterior receptacles;
- Conducting daily machinery and equipment inspections and circle checks;
- Loading cardboard bales on to waste pick up truck;
- Assisting in keeping the warehouse aisles clear;
- Safe handling and operation of the counter balance;
- Disposal of cardboard and waste;
- Separating waste and recyclables;
- Operating the cardboard and plastic compactors;
- General facility housekeeping (i.e.: clearing ice and debris from building entrance and seasonal cleanup);
- Delivering materials to office personnel as required;
- Scheduling waste pick-ups with suppliers;
- Maintaining a clean work environment;
- Adhering to all company and government legislated policies and procedures; and
- Other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- Must be capable of performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment;
- Must be able to lift 50lbs+;
- Must be able to stand for extended periods;
- Must be able to work with others;
- Must be able to work efficiently and effectively;
- Must work in an organized manner;
- Must be a critical thinker with strong problem-solving skills; and
- Must possess a strong attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or equivalent;
- English language proficiency (read/write/speak);
- Valid counter-balance certification is an asset; and
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required:
- Steel-toed shoes
- Safety glasses
