SUMMARY

The Systems Specialist, BCM plays a key role in delivering North America’s standardized approach for rolling out Warehouse Management System (WMS) modules within Contract Logistics engagements. This includes leading implementations, managing upgrades, and extending existing applications. The role involves hands-on support of WMS solutions — covering design, configuration, and testing — and ensuring successful system delivery.

In addition to implementation work, the Systems Specialist will also be responsible for documenting legacy systems and supporting their transition into the company’s standardized WMS framework. The role brings functional and business process expertise to cross-functional project teams, which may include internal IT and Operations staff, subcontractors, remote global teams, and client stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the analysis and documentation of business requirements and legacy system processes.
  • Assisting with the design, configuration, testing, and implementation of Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Documenting legacy workflows and building process maps to support transition to the standardized WMS setup.
  • Preparing functional specifications for system integrations, including EDI, in collaboration with global IT and external partners.
  • Writing and executing SQL queries to support data validation, troubleshooting, and reporting tasks.
  • Analyze complex issues and client cases and provide sensible generic solutions.
  • Maintaining clear, accurate documentation for processes, reports, and system configurations.
  • Troubleshooting system issues and contributing to effective, scalable solutions.
  • Working closely with internal teams, and client stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a technical or system support role, ideally within a warehouse or supply chain environment.
  • Experience with JDA Dispatcher WMS or other major WMS platforms.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations and related systems.
  • Experience documenting and mapping operational processes, including legacy system workflows.
  • Readiness to travel domestically and internationally, including Europe, sometimes on short notice.
  • Results driven (being dependable, being persistent/overcoming barriers, being productive, being resourceful, demonstrating work ethic, drive to achieve goals, IT compliance, prioritizing, reading, taking Initiative, taking ownership, working autonomously, project management skills).

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in at least one WMS platform.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Skilled in documenting technical processes, system behaviors, and configurations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Nice to have: C#, ASP.NET, MS SQL Server Management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The nature of this job will require up to 25-30% travel.
