Your Opportunity
We have an opening for a Geotechnical Materials Engineer role. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on engineering and geotechnical materials projects in a multi-discipline project team environment. Working in our Dartmouth, Nova Scotia office, it is expected that your technical skills will help continue the growth of the materials testing and inspection team.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Managing multiple variety of small to large material testing and inspection projects
- Planning and coordinating field and laboratory testing of construction materials
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of clients from owners, developers, and contractors, to aggregate, hot mix asphalt, and ready mixed concrete producer
- Client management and business development
- Preparation and review of proposals and technical reports
- Provision of Quality Control and Quality Assurance services
- Site inspection/supervision
- Become actively engaged in a role with a variety of trade associations
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Knowledge of relevant CSA and ASTM Standards related to materials and concrete would be an asset
- Strong client management experience
- A self-starter who is innovative and enjoy working in a team environment
- The ability and willingness to travel as needed
Education and Experience
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer or Certified Engineering Technologist with a minimum of 8 years of experience in contracting/consulting.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
