About the role

With 140 successful years in the industry, Krug is well recognized as a leader in the design & manufacture of high quality business and healthcare furniture. We have an IMMEDIATE need for a 'Final Inspector' to join our Seating facility in Kitchener.

** This is a contractual role with potential for permanent full-time.**

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assess FPR reports and attend FPR meetings to assure strong knowledge of current deficiencies.

· Visually inspect units prior to packing (e.g. checking colour, colour consistency, white edges, dents, scratches, runs, and visible/poor touch-ups, FPR issues).

· Check that units match packing labels (e.g. grommets & locations, unit sizes) and check for any special inspection requirements.

· Inspect packing of units to assure best possible protection has been attained, using required materials.

· Check hardware bags to assure all required items are enclosed with Installation Instructions (prior to final inspect). Notify Trimmer and leaders of errors as required.

· Perform minor touch-ups (e.g. missed white edges, over-spray) during inspection.

· Notify inspectors if minor added touch-ups are required that are fairly obvious and seek assistance from leaders as necessary.

· Complete ‘Special Inspections’ aiding Team Leaders.

· Inspect working action of locks, slides, hinges etc., and operations of any electrical components (e.g. lights).

· Monitor to determine if trends are developing on specific issues; communicate and aid leaders in assessing actions/solutions.

· ‘Electronically’ report daily findings to required leaders, etc. and participate in daily discussions to promote opportunities for improvements.

· Inspect and audit in other areas throughout the plant, but primarily in the second half.

· Lead problem-solving initiative including facilitating some teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Grade 12 education.

· Must have solid understanding of Krug quality standards, including the ability to recognize unacceptable defects and the ability to do minor finishing repair.

· Ability to read routers, picklists and packing details.

· Ability to recognize and then organize changing priorities (multi tasking).

· Basic computer skills.

· Full skill set is required to obtain the full rate of the position.
