Most of our solutions are related to Energy Transition and carbon reduction industries.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting an Assembly Fitter to work at our Shepard Shop (9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6). The Journeyperson Pipefitter plays a vital role in mounting majors and assembling small-bore and large-bore piping systems according to drawings on various skidded packages. Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, work is completed by reading and interpreting P&IDs, GA’s and Piping Specifications. Additionally, they may mentor apprentices for skill development. Shift Schedule - 5:50-4:20 (4 days/week,10 hours/day). Overtime is as required.

QUALIFICATIONS**:**

  • Journeyman Pipefitter certification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a pipefitter, demonstrating proficiency in pipe installation and fabrication techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of plumbing and piping systems, materials, and building codes.
  • Familiarity with various pipe materials, such as steel, copper, plastic, and PVC.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex piping issues.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to pipefitting work.
  • Good physical condition and stamina to perform manual labor and work in various conditions.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

ASSEMBLY

  • Good communication skills; both written and oral
  • Excellent product knowledge
  • Installation and placement of major equipment
  • Installation and support of spooling
  • Skid layout for small bore piping
  • Fitting of socket and screwed small bore pipe
  • Read, interpret and red-line (Isometrics, P&ID's, G.A.’s)
  • Tack welding experience
  • Liaise with shipping & receiving

SAFETY

  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Participate in safety and company programs
  • Team player with positive engagement
  • Participate in project reviews with engineering & drafting
