The Job At evo, we’re on the lookout for a skilled and passionate Bike Mechanic to join our dynamic team in Whistler. Whether you’re dialing in high-end mountain bikes or keeping our rental fleet trail-ready, your work will play a key role in delivering unforgettable riding experiences for our customers.

The ideal candidate is not only knowledgeable and experienced with bicycle repair—especially in the world of mountain bikes—but also thrives in a fast-paced, mountain-town environment. What You'll Get To Do

  • Assemble, inspect, diagnose, and tune a wide variety of bicycles, including high-end mountain bikes and e-bikes.
  • Execute work orders efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Communicate clearly with customers about necessary repairs, costs, urgency, and maintenance timelines.
  • Assist retail floor staff and customers with bike-related technical questions and recommendations.
  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on the rental fleet under guidance from the Service Supervisor.
  • Track, complete, and log fleet servicing tasks.
  • Organize rental bike prep for upcoming bookings and ensure bikes are ride-ready.
  • Help maintain an accurate inventory of service and rental parts.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the day.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of service standards and training materials.
  • Perform light janitorial duties and ensure cleanliness standards are upheld at all times.
  • Be the go-to technical expert on all things bike-related.
  • Support other departments or areas within the store or distribution center as needed.
  • Train to mount skis and assist with ski service during winter (as designated).
  • Get involved in evo events and give back through community impact opportunities.
  • Offer friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable customer service at all times.
  • Support with various tasks as required

Requirements What You Will Bring to the Team:

  • A passion for bikes and customer service.

  • Punctual, accountable, and a strong communicator.
  • Attention to detail with a creative and proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Able to work full-day shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Skills & Experience

  • 1+ years of experience as a bike mechanic/technician.
  • Proficient in:

Disc brake setup and bleeding

Tubeless tire setup

Derailleur adjustments

Suspension tuning and basic servicing (RockShox, Fox)

Wheel truing and building

Frame alignment and prep

Deep understanding of bike fit and ergonomics

  • Ability to identify factory or manufacturing issues with components or bikes.
  • Solid knowledge of current bicycle trends, standards, and parts.
  • Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
  • Able to read and interpret tech manuals and schematics.
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs and standing for extended periods.

The Nice to Haves

  • Experience with e-bike diagnostics and servicing using diagnostic
  • Ski mounting/tuning experience or willingness to learn.

The base wage for this role ranges from $20.00/hr to $24.00/hr. Where you land in that range depends on your skills and experience, and we also factor in internal pay equity. While the full range is listed for this role, we rarely hire at the top of the range, leaving room for professional and financial growth in role.
