YOUR ROLE
We are looking for an experienced Benefits Office Administrator in our Group Benefits Services Department and we hope our search ends now, with you.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Group Benefits Services, the Administrator is responsible for the administration of all programs as defined under a client’s group benefit plan. The Administrator is responsible for the maintenance of various aspects of the member records, and for professionally communicating details of the plans to parties entitled to the information.
The Administrator must maintain the confidentiality and security of client files and data, and must adhere to specific rules and standards in protecting all information. This position will require the individual to work full time in office from our Woodbridge location.
YOUR IMPACT
For a set block of clients:
- You will professionally communicate with internal and external customers and plan members as required to ensure plan member records are accurately maintained. Supports Manion’s Contact Center with member inquiries relating to programs managed by the Administration Department.
- You will manage group benefits plans as defined in employee booklets and amended from time to time, according to standards and procedures as documented. Ensure eligibility rules are appropriately applied.
- You will manage Health Spending Accounts, vacation payouts and SUB plans.
- You will prepare and distribute correspondence, self payment, reinstatement and termination notices to plan participants as required by their circumstances. Manage stop loss procedure, garnishments, and bankruptcy settlements.
- You will prepare reports as requested to support activities such as mass mailings and insurance renewals. Collaborate in the preparation of specialized communications materials such as booklets, newsletters, and forms.
- You will co-ordinate with other departments to successfully transition members and their dependents through disabilities, retirements and deaths; including the setup of survivor accounts.
- You will review all administrative sections in booklets, as requested, and investigate gaps between plan documents and Manion’s information systems. Reports inconsistencies or missing procedure documentation to the Supervisor.
- You will update member records on system to reflect current status, premium rates and policy information.
- You will back up other Administrators as required.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
THIS IS YOU
- Post Secondary Degree/Diploma in a related field
- Two years progressive experience in a group benefits or insurance environment
- Must possess excellent customer service skills, be team oriented and cooperative with co-workers, consultants and departments
- Excellent telephone and written communication skills in English
- Superior organization skills and have demonstrated ability to multitask and handle conflicting priorities
- Strong computer skills –intermediate to advanced proficiency in standard desktop applications (Word and Excel)
- Demonstrated flair for detail, highly motivated
- Strong organizational skills and able to meet deadlines
- Self motivated and able to work well with minimal supervision
- French language skills an asset

YOUR COMPENSATION
At the time of this posting, the estimated annual base salary pay range for this position is $50,000-$57,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, and education/training. This range reflects the annual base salary only pay and does not encompass our comprehensive total rewards, benefits, and potential bonuses that we proudly offer.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Your work week will be 37.5 hours a week, working weekdays for 7.5 hours daily, with occasional overtime.
