The Opportunity
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting & Finance team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance, this role plays a critical part in supporting month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is energetic, eager to learn, and passionate about contributing to continuous process improvements. In This Role You Will
- Assist the month-end closing process including journal entries, general ledger account reconciliation, intercompany confirmations, reporting, and analysis
- Assist other important year-end tasks including physical inventory, standard costing updates, and interim audit preparation
- Responsible for preparing, filing, and ensuring compliance with sales tax requirements across Canadian provinces and U.S. states.
- Fixed asset and capital expenditure tracking
- Oversee intercompany reconciliation process
- Ensure integrity and compliance with internal controls and policies
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and proceed in developing the necessary processes and systems
- Take a proactive approach by analyzing, researching, and resolving issues
- Engage with non-financial stakeholders as a Business Partner to lead key finance initiatives within the organization
- Participate in special projects as required
What You Need
- University degree specializing in finance, commerce or equivalent
- CPA designation or close to completion (IE. Completed CFE)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a full cycle accounting environment
- Analytical thinker, detail oriented and able to problem solve
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- High level of accountability and willingness to learn
- Strong interpersonal skills
Preferred
- Experience with SAP is an asset
- Knowledge in PowerBI is considered an asset
