We are seeking an experienced Lead QA Automation Engineer to join our innovative FinTech venture. As the most senior testing professional on the team, you'll drive quality assurance strategies across our financial technology products, working with a dedicated team of developers and testers to deliver exceptional software solutions to our clients in the financial sector.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement comprehensive test strategies and detailed test plans for our FinTech applications
• Serve as the technical quality authority within the team, advising on QA best practices and testing methodologies
• Set, prioritize and delegate tasks for a Junior Test Engineer
• Partner with C# developers to ensure quality is built into our software development lifecycle from inception
• Enhance and maintain our test automation framework, focusing on scalability and efficiency
• Design, develop, and execute automated test suites using Python and Robot Framework
• Implement continuous integration and continuous testing practices
• Research and recommend new testing tools and approaches to improve our quality processes
• Work independently to plan and execute the QA scope, ensuring comprehensive test coverage
• Collect, analyze, and report on QA metrics and statistics to provide stakeholders with clear insights into product quality
• Lead test planning sessions, test reviews, and defect triage meetings
• Collaborate effectively with a team of 3-5 teammates and engage with third-party vendors
• Participate in client meetings to represent testing concerns and communicate quality status

Requirements

• Python Expertise: Strong proficiency in Python programming with a focus on test automation
• Python Testing Frameworks: Hands-on experience with pytest, unittest, or similar Python testing libraries
• Robot Framework: Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining Robot Framework test suites
• Test Automation Frameworks: Deep understanding of test automation architecture and design patterns
• Testing Strategy: Proven ability to create comprehensive test strategies that balance risk, coverage, and efficiency
• Leadership: Experience leading testing initiatives and guiding junior team members
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to have

• C# Knowledge: Familiarity with C# to better collaborate with our development team and potentially contribute to testing frameworks in a mixed-language environment
• SQL Proficiency: Experience writing and analyzing SQL queries to validate database operations and data integrity in financial applications
• API Testing Experience: Knowledge of RESTful API testing methodologies and tools
• Financial Domain Knowledge: Understanding of financial systems, regulations, or FinTech products

This posting includes a base salary range EPAM Canada would reasonably expect to pay the selected candidate. Individual compensation offers within the range are based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, training, the demand for the role, skillset, and overall business and local labour market considerations.
