Board Governance Advisor
Our public sector client is seeking an experienced Board Advisor to provide leadership in governance, operations, and strategic decision-making.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, bylaws, and Board policies. You will lead the continuous improvement of Board processes, ensuring they are scalable, repeatable, and aligned with best practices.
You will be tasked with overseeing Board operations, including systematizing meeting processes, developing agendas, and ensuring action tracking for key resolutions. Additionally, you will manage stakeholder engagement strategies and work with internal and external parties to maintain transparent communication and ensure governance best practices are followed.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in corporate governance, compliance, risk management, or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in Board operations and executive-level governance advisory.
- 5+ years of experience supporting senior-level Boards, including policy development, regulatory compliance, and corporate-level planning.
- Experience in a highly regulated sector, particularly healthcare, with a deep understanding of governance in complex, publicly accountable organizations.
- Extensive knowledge of governance best practices, including policy review, minute preparation, and Board committee management.
- Expertise in health law, corporate governance, compliance, and risk management protocols.
- Strong business strategy, corporate planning, and reporting experience in government or regulated environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and familiar with digital governance tools.
- Experience with Board management software and records management practices.
