Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager of Canada, the Area Sales Manager is responsible for profitably grow sales of Littelfuse Industrial Business Unit (IBU) products, such as protective relays, sensors, power fuses and fuse holders, and future developed/acquired technologies in region of responsibility through a variety of selling strategies.

The incumbent will provide technical and commercial support for Littelfuse IBU products to customers consisting of Littelfuse agents, distributors, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), engineering consultants, and end users in the form of customer visits, presentations, seminars, sales calls, webinars, email, and other remote communications.

About The Job

  • Profitably grow sales of Littelfuse industrial products in region of responsibility.
  • Become single-point-of contact for communications in assigned territory.
  • Provide product expertise to assist agents, customers, designers, integrators, and distributors in identifying applications for Littelfuse products.
  • Follow up on customer needs and opportunities.
  • Identify and build relationships with key agents, customers, and distributors remotely and in person.
  • Track and monitor potential opportunities.
  • Conduct technical training with agents, distributors and end users.
  • Attend industry functions (conferences, trade shows, customer events and industrial mining association meetings) to maintain and increase Littelfuse profile in the region.
  • With support from our Product Management/Field Applications Engineers, trouble-shoot technical issues in assigned territory.

About You

  • Experienced in the Canadian electrical wholesale industry
  • Bilingual in both English and French is an asset
  • Post secondary education in Electrical and / or relevant technical field experience is recommended
  • Comprehension of electricity and technical products used for control and protection
  • Able to interact and communicate with customers ranging from non-technical to engineering specialists.
  • Experience with managing sales channels including manufacturer’s agents, electrical wholesalers and end users is an asset.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Office Suite.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • At least 5 years of technical sales experience
  • If someone has long tenure of technical experience that also works, doesn’t have to be a degreed individual.
  • Must have relationships in Canadian electrical industry. Already has existing relationships with some of our customers or even our competitors.
