As Senior Manager, Financial Governance, you will be responsible for overseeing the effectiveness of processes, policies, controls, and the governance framework surrounding financial information. You will also act as a consultant to the various business lines, making recommendations to optimize operational efficiency and reduce business risks. With your in-depth understanding of business issues, you will actively contribute to effective risk management and the resolution of emerging problems. In addition, you will supervise and develop a team of seasoned professionals, fostering excellence and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage the execution of assigned mandates by developing audit strategies and procedures adapted to the risks inherent in business processes, Bank operations, and major projects.
  • Plan and coordinate the annual audit work regarding the review of internal processes.
  • Manage a team of highly qualified professionals, oversee the quality of their work, and ensure their continuous professional development.
  • Supervise and coordinate the quarterly attestation process.
  • Ensure the ongoing assessment and strengthening of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Apply audit techniques and procedures in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Define priorities to respect budgets and identify solutions to issues that may cause overruns.
  • Collaborate with specialized internal auditors on integrated process engagements.
  • Draft audit reports and present them to management.
  • Support stakeholders in internal control management.
  • Demonstrate an advanced understanding of corporate governance concepts and best practices, challenging existing processes to integrate the most demanding external standards.
  • Actively respect the methodology, require little guidance, and promote it

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (concentration in Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management) or in a related relevant discipline.
  • Relevant recognized professional designation (CPA, CISA, or CIA) considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in internal audit, internal control, and/or external audit (in a firm), including at least 5 years of experience in personnel management. Good knowledge of Regulation 52-109.
  • Mastery of professional standards and COSO/COBIT frameworks.
  • Proven experience in reviewing and improving business processes.
  • Proven leadership and ability to effectively influence towards achieving objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English*
  • Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
