Job Summary
As a Resort Activity Guide, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the guest experience by leading and coordinating various recreational activities and events at our resort. Your primary responsibility will be to engage children of all ages in fun, educational, and memorable experiences while ensuring their safety and satisfaction. This position requires excellent communication skills, a passion for customer service, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

• Lead and facilitate a variety of resort activities, including outdoor adventures, games, workshops, and educational programs.
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and addressing any concerns they may have.
• Educate guests about local culture, wildlife, and environmental conservation through informative presentations and guided tours.
• Ensure the safety of all participants during activities by enforcing safety protocols and providing necessary equipment.
• Collaborate with other resort staff to organize special events and themed activities that enhance the guest experience.
• Maintain an organized schedule of activities and communicate updates effectively to guests.
• Exhibit leadership qualities by motivating guests to participate in activities while fostering a positive environment.

· Guest Experience: Creating a positive and engaging atmosphere for guests.

· Activity Facilitation: Assisting the Experience Team in organizing and running recreation activities, especially during peak times.

· Local Ambassador: Representing Hidden Valley brand and the Muskoka region.

· Relationship Building: Developing strong relationships with guests and creating a culture of family.

· Experience: Prior experience in a recreation-related field and/or with children is an asset but not essential.

· Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills.

· Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.

· Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the Muskoka area is beneficial.

· Brand Ambassador: Ability to represent the Hidden Valley Brand and promote its values.

· The Resort Activity Guide role is an important part of the guest services team.

· The Resort Activity Guide will be essential in creating a memorable experience for guests.

· The role may involve working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Experience in public speaking is preferred; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
• Previous customer service experience is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire teamwork among participants.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure smooth operation of scheduled activities.
• A passion for educating others about recreational activities, local culture, or environmental topics is beneficial.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
