Position
Join CPA Solutions as Accounting Supervisor.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial, highly motivated, and technically strong individual to join our dynamic and growing team as an Accounting Supervisor . In this pivotal position, you will be the face of our firm, directly engaging with clients and leading a team of talented accountants. Responsibilities
As an Accounting Supervisor on our team, you will:
- Effectively plan, supervise and execute all Compilation Engagement documents to be issued to the client, including working papers, financial statements, planning documents, notes, attached schedules, and management letters in accordance with all relevant professional standards and Firm policies.
- Prepare & Review personal (T1), trust (T3) and corporate (T2) income tax returns in accordance with all relevant professional standards and Firm policies.
- Provide constructive criticism of working papers for Compilation Engagements and offer guidance and direction to staff working on the file.
- Apply appropriate industry/business knowledge in anticipating, identifying, and addressing issues relevant to the client’s business.
- Effectively manage and focus on Firm resources.
- Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-focused environment.
- Develop the skills, capabilities and potential of less experienced staff through supervision, coaching, knowledge transfer, internal training delivery, and assignment of challenging work opportunities.
- Conduct or provide input into staff performance reviews.
- Assist with other duties as assigned or required.
Essential Qualifications
- Designated or non-designated accounting professional.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years post-certification public accounting experience in reviewing NTRs, performing review engagements, and first-level review of assurance engagements.
- Thorough understanding and experience with GAAP, CSRS 2400 and Canadian Taxation.
- Extensive understanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principles.
- Solid understanding of owner-manager tax concepts.
- Ability to prepare more complex T2 tax returns and to review simpler ones.
- Proficiency in Taxprep, Caseware, Quickbooks and/or Xero would be an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Proven people management, relationship building and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with clients and team members.
- Self-starter with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to deliver in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
