You are a highly experienced and strategic Finance Manager who is enthusiastic about joining a rapidly expanding organization poised for growth. This role is based out of Dentalcorp’s Toronto Support Centre from Monday to Thursday and Fridays are work from home. Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance Shared Services, you will play a key role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the accurate calculation of doctor draws and managing the practice month-end close function. This position requires a strong understanding of doctor compensation models and financial analysis. The manager will collaborate with doctors, practice managers, finance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate compensation for doctors and efficient revenue management.
Key Responsibilities include:
Doctor Draw calculation:
- Collaborate with HR, legal and Talent to ensure correct rates are entered in the commission engine.
- Analyze financial and operational data to calculate doctor draws accurately, considering productivity, revenue generation, contractual agreements, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data used in draw calculations and address any discrepancies.
- Regularly review and update draw calculations to reflect changes in performance, and contractual agreements.
- Communicate draw calculations to dentists, addressing any questions or concerns.
Partner Variable Compensation:
- Ensure compliance with partnership agreements.
- Collaborate with legal and acquisition departments and regularly maintain compensation engine.
- Prepare monthly variable compensation entry based on partner agreement.
- Address partner inquiries, concerns, or disputes related to variable compensation calculations, providing explanations and resolutions as necessary.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics related to doctor compensation and accounts receivable.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations to communicate draw calculations, revenue trends, and accounts receivable outcomes to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost optimization, and revenue enhancement in collaboration with finance and operations teams.
- Conduct regular audits and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of draw calculations and general ledger records.
Team Management and Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team responsible for doctor compensation and practice month-end close process.
- Set performance goals, provide guidance, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, HR, Talent, Legal and IT, to streamline processes, resolve issues, and improve overall financial performance.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in senior finance roles.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
- Proficiency in financial systems and tools, including ERP systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
