Position Summary
The Peri-operative certified RPN will possess the theoretical knowledge and technical skills required to work in the peri-operative setting. The Operating Room program is dedicated to providing safe client care utilizing an effective and efficient team approach.
Qualifications
- Must hold a current certificate of competence to practice as a R.P.N. in Ontario.
- Qualified to practice within current CNO R.P.N. Scope of Practice guidelines.
- Current certification in BCLS.
- One year acute care experience required.
- RPN Operating Room Nursing Certificate mandatory.
- Minimum one (1) year experience in the Operating Room Scrub role within the last five (5) years required.
- Must be able to rotate through all services within the Operating Room.
- Must be able to work all shifts, weekends plus on call Mandatory
- Preference given to candidates with current laser certification.
- Must function within the competencies, professional and clinical standards for Peri-operative Nursing Practice.
- Commitment to providing high quality, individualized patient care
- Ability to form good working relationships with all members of the healthcare team.
- Ability to make intelligent, independent decisions and initiate appropriate action based on patient-focused best practice guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize the Nursing process while performing detailed and highly technical procedures.
- Satisfactory work performance and attendance record required.
- The successful candidate will have a proven commitment to professional development as well as to the Mission and Vision of the Hospital.
- Demonstrates proficiency in written and verbal communications skills in relation to working with patients across the care continuum.
- Available to work 8 and 12 hour shifts, days, evening and weekends
