Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Ticketing & Operations, the Photography Assistant will provide administrative support to the Marketing and Sponsorship team through coordination of a photo shortlist and photo library for Stampede while establishing work priorities to meet deadlines, exercise judgment and discretion in the handling of all department-related materials and provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support through coordination of a photo shortlist for Stampede
  • Provide Administrative support for a contract Photography team including oversight of a Calgary Stampede photo library
  • Upload photos to Lightroom system and Flickr
  • Provide additional administrative support as required including; answering phones, typing correspondence, distributing mail, scheduling meetings and appointments
  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external stakeholders, sponsors, volunteers and guests
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:

  • A diploma in Administration or a related field from an accredited college
  • Experience with photography and Adobe Lightroom Photo system considered an asset
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills, ability to communicate in a clear concise manner
  • Advance knowledge of MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) and database applications
  • Demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

This position is partially funded by the Government of Canada under the Canada Summer Jobs program. To qualify, participants must be:

(a) between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
(b) a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
(c) legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

  • International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.
