Position Overview

IAF is looking for a Human Resources Advisor who enjoys a mix of strategic thinking and day-to-day execution. In this role, you’ll support everything from recruitment and onboarding to policy development, performance management, and employee engagement. You’ll get to work closely with leadership, contribute to meaningful projects, and help shape a positive, values-based workplace culture. This position is hybrid working out of IAF’s Victoria office. It is a full-time permanent position, 37.5 hours per week. The salary range is $72,000-$87,000.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide HR administrative support such as employee file management using MS Outlook, ADP, and SharePoint applications
- Recommend and assist in the creation of and manage updates of IAF HR policies, procedures and programs supporting IAF’s culture, values and mandate
- Manage benefits enrolment and answering related questions from employees
- Assist hiring managers through the full-cycle recruitment process
- Complete onboarding tasks for staff, contractors and Board such as orientations, collecting new hire paperwork, and being a resource regarding employment information
- Recommend and support professional development framing and logistics for staff, contractors and Board
- Support leadership team with discipline and PIP discussions
- Collaborate and action items with HR functions, initiatives, projects, and processes (cross-functional)
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational development or psychology or related field is preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of applied human resource experience
- Experience working with HRIS systems (ADP experience preferred)
- Accreditation as a human resource professional (such as CPHR Canada / BC) is an asset
- Strong emotional intelligence and organizational cultural awareness, goals and objectives
- Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of human resource management to a variety of sensitive and complex situations
- Highly organized with excellent planning and project management skills
- Proficient use of Microsoft office suite, HRIS software, and the ability to learn and effective use proprietary software
