Description Of The Position We’re searching for a passionate and motivated Communications Intern to join our Manager, Internal Communications, for a 4-month contract focused on employee communications. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate (within 36 months) looking to gain hands-on experience in internal communications at the heart of a fast-paced, mission-driven organization. This intern role is a member of the Public Relations, Communications & Donor Care team which is part of the broader Marketing team.
In this early career role, you will help craft engaging content and support the execution of communication strategies that connect, inform, and inspire our incredible SickKids Foundation team—especially as we prepare for the public launch of our historic Heal the Future campaign, the largest in Canadian health care history! You'll gain valuable hands-on experience while contributing to impactful internal communication strategies across multiple teams and platforms.
You Will
- Collaborate on the planning, development, and maintenance of content for our SharePoint intranet, ensuring information is current, engaging, and aligned with organizational priorities
- Support drafting, editing and distributing internal communications including all-staff memos, updates, and announcements
- Assist in developing campaign-aligned content and storytelling to support employee engagement in our Heal the Future campaign.
- Coordinate, format, and publish internal e-newsletters, working closely with internal teams to gather content and ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Support digital signage from content collection and creation to scheduling and deployment across internal screens.
- Provide event coordination and logistical support for key internal events such as Town Halls and all-staff meetings, both virtual and in-person.
- Support administrative duties, ad hoc communications projects, and cross-functional collaboration as required.

- Currently pursuing or recently completed a diploma or degree in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for detail and a clear, engaging style
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Demonstrated discretion, tact, and professionalism, particularly when working with sensitive internal information
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Canva and Poppulo is considered an asset, but not required
- Curious and creative contributor— we believe in doing great work and having fun while we do it, fostering an inclusive, supportive team culture
