Mainframe DB2 COBOL JCL
Job Summary: We are seeking a seasoned Lead Mainframe Quality Engineer to oversee quality assurance activities for a strategic modernization initiative involving the migration of core banking systems from Mainframe DB2 to Oracle on PeopleSoft. This leadership role will focus on ensuring the integrity and reliability of modified mainframe batch processes, guiding the QA team, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a seamless transition.Key Responsibilities: Lead the planning, design, and execution of QA strategies for mainframe batch process modifications and data migration validation.Oversee the development of comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for mainframe applications and batch jobs.Manage and mentor a team of QA engineers, ensuring adherence to testing standards and best practices.Coordinate with development, Oracle/PeopleSoft, and business teams to ensure alignment on requirements and testing scope.Drive data reconciliation efforts between DB2 and Oracle systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Monitor batch job execution using tools like TWS, CA-7, or Control-M, and validate outputs.Lead defect triage meetings, root cause analysis, and resolution tracking.Ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and audit requirements.Report on QA metrics, risks, and progress to senior leadership.Champion continuous improvement in QA processes and tools.Required Skills & Qualifications: Extensive experience in mainframe QA, including COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM.Proven leadership in managing QA teams and delivering complex testing projects.Strong understanding of batch job validation, job scheduling, and data migration testing.Familiarity with Oracle databases and PeopleSoft integration.Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.Preferred Skills: Experience with test automation in mainframe environments.Knowledge of eGL (Enterprise Generation Language) or similar tools.Exposure to Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.Background in banking or financial services QA projects.Project Highlights: Lead QA efforts for migration from Mainframe DB2 to Oracle on PeopleSoft.Ensure quality and reliability of modified mainframe batch processes.High-visibility role in a mission-critical modernization initiative.
