We are seeking a Senior Scientist, Formulation Development to lead the creation, replication, and optimization of innovative and existing products using a wide range of raw materials. In this key role, you will drive prototype development and testing while collaborating with internal teams to share best practices and support strategic business objectives. You will be responsible for calculating product costs, ensuring compliance with sustainability initiatives, and aligning your work with our company’s core values—including our commitment to people, the planet, and profit. Permanent Full-Time (40 hours) Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (flexible); Hybrid In this role, you will:
- Develop and improve new and existing products through lab trials, pilot runs, and production scale-ups.
- Design experimental trials for reformulation, troubleshooting, and reprocessing projects.
- Prepare and review Master Manufacturing Documents (MMFs) and support costing and documentation for new products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support QA investigations, vendor evaluations, and interdepartmental technical needs.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, including SR&ED reporting, cost-saving projects, and sharing best practices with team members.
You have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Nutrition, Food or Pharmaceutical Sciences, with 7–10 years of formulation R&D experience in pharma or nutraceuticals.
- Hands-on knowledge of production equipment and processes across various dosage forms (e.g., tablets, capsules, liquids, powders, softgels).
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office; familiarity with ERP systems, SharePoint, and Asana is a plus.
- Experience with NHP regulations, GMP standards, analytical test methods, and Health Canada compliance.
- A track record of scientific problem-solving, analytical thinking, and project coordination in dynamic R&D environments.
